My name is Tracy Augustine and I am one of those Long Islanders. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, a type of autoimmune arthritis, when I was 25 years old. Within three months of my diagnosis, I went from working, exercising, and socializing to laying in a hospital bed unable to move from constant pain. For the last 9 years I have had a never-ending list of medical problems related to my arthritis. I was recently diagnosed with arthritis in my spine which is something that no one wants to hear, especially at 35. My life changed forever in August 2010, but despite all the challenges with my health I have been a Platinum Ambassador with the Arthritis Foundation (a 501(c)(3) non-profit) for the last 3 years. Absolute garbage. Overpriced and poor service. The manager, Gary, sat with my family for 20 minutes or so and made our meal uncomfortable and awkward. They even charged for water. Would not recommend!
